Adding HUD and a DIC to your 97-03 GP

I think I have read about it early on is this thread and a few people say the data in not transmitting but I hooked a jumper from the DLC to the #9 pin on the digital DIC connector and still nothing, I could possibly have a bad DIC. But thanks for the reply.

One thing when you go from gtp to gt or the other way, there is a mod. I am on my phone, when I get to a pc I will try and find the thread. It only has to do with the trac light. From what I read the flashing 0 is a data link issue. Could be bad DIC, just double check the wiring, most tap into the data link on the odb-ii connector, to be sure they got the right one. Most of this is what I read.
 
I'm going from a gtp to a se and the traction control works and the light cycles on and off as I press the button and actually works at the wheel level, but Im starting to have to lean towards a bad DIC. But thnx for the reply, gonna hit the junkyard up this weekend and hopefully get lucky and find another
 
I know this is an old thread, but what color is the HUD display? the picture on page 6 I think showed it as green. Are all HUDs green and if they are do they look out of place with everything else being red?
 
Quick question - anyone know off hand what size the bolts are to remove the HUD? I'm headed to the junkyard tomorrow to pull one out of a car and the less tools I have to lug with me the better!
 


Okay, I know this is a very old thread, but one thing I didn't see in it is: Is there a specific part number for the '97 GTP DIC that distinguishes it from later years? After all these years that would be really helpful when trying to find a one-year-only 28 year-old part. And does anyone that might still be reading this thread have a '97 GTP DIC that they would be willing to part with?

Replaces: 16234942, 16268422 The 97 had the tire pressure monitor on it IIRC. There are a few showing on Ebay. Search for "driver information display"
 
Thanks for the reply. All of those with part #09360352 I've found are listed as 98-03, or mislabeled as 97-up. From what i gathered from the posts above the '97 is SPECIFICALLY unique and is what I need for plug-n-play into my 97 GT.
