Acceptable tcc slip rpm

Curious when scanning what is an acceptable amount , if any , of tcc slip? While cruising or under wide open throttle ?

I was showing about 1650 taking off normally and locked up in 4th gear was about 20-30 rpm. I'm curious about this too and was going to ask the same thing. Under full throttle launches I would see a peak of 1950 or so.

Slip depends a lot on the lockup strategy and converter clutches. Then factor in all the other various items the pcm sees and you end up with a little slip here or there depending on what is going on.

pcm will command anywhere from 0 to 150 rpm slip depending on the load at tcc "apply"

its mainly to minimize NVH and isnt used on my crap, i set lockup to 100% duty cycle and deal with the "5th shift" and sometimes the lugging vibration at low rpm's in 3rd/4th (where you can almost feel the individual cylinders firing

I'd like to see your apply/release tables. I've been only getting kr when the tcc locks at low rpms and having a hard time tuning it out.

Very strange issue here as well. The more you dig into the throttle while the convertor is locked , I occasionally would see 1-2* kr before it would release. Now you can adjust it to release early but I kept it the same because something odd happened.
Once I filled the intercooler and ran it, it never came back.

Bob,

Open bin file, insert my trans settings, Close bin file and load.

i could try and mess around with it again but my release / apply was tweaked many times - I just put it back to stock. I liked no lock up ever in 3rd too.

Bill I gotta find your Dropbox again. Cause I would like to see your "boost" gauge in HPT .....

Well odd to me cause tbere was hardly any boost coming from the blower.
which leads me to another question about PE. I can make boost under certain conditions before entering 40% throttle which is what my PE is set to - so 1-3lbs at a stoich AFR no kr .... Again all with the apply / release tables and why I dropped 3rd lock up all together.

Scorty those hose files for 3.29s?

if you have your tranny wroked like one of them valve bodys, use the trand file from bills regal.

if not theres another one in his name folder, or i could email you a bin with the trans tune to keep the searching down.

Load trans settings
Search on the usual BillBoost "ea sy" and then adjust for 3.29's.

Ohhhh the 10 min this might take. It's painful
