AC recirculator

So a while back the recirculate feature stopped working on my AC. Immediately I thought the recirculate module on the side of the HVAC unit went bad. So I finally got around to pulling it today and ordered another one from Morads before I even tested to see if it worked. So after I ordered it, I put 12v to the old one from my jump box, and lo and behold it works. The motor spins both ways. Every other function of my AC works. Every other actuator works as it should. When I hit "recirculate" on the controls the light comes on but nothing changes.

Now this just happened out of the blue. I haven't had the dash apart or replaced anything so far this year. Any ideas what else I could check?
 


I would swap the hvac control unit with a known good one. Hopefully you got a buddy who will let ya tear into his car or get the pinouts and check that lead coming out of the control unit and check at the plug itself. Do these have the self diagnostics at all like the digital ones in my 98 do? anybody know?
