• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

AC problem

If you have been running it to keep it from making noise then you might have a leak on the high pressure side check the high pressure valve. Its notorious to leak. AZ sells a valve kit. My 2001 used the kit #mt2901. Although you could have a leak anywhere could even be the compressor shaft. Dye would be the way to find it for a home mech. If you want you can jump the low pressure switch to see if the compressor comes on but only do it for a second to verify low r134a.

Long since I posted here. I never got the ac fixed. I ordered the compressor kit on rockauto.com and just waiting to have someone put it in. I waa wondering about something someone wrote on this topic. My power steering is acting weird, hard at times and other time fluid. It hasn't been really good for a while. Also my abs light is still on. Someone on here askes if I have magnasteer? They were making it sound as if all of this could be connected. We know the compressor is done for, but explain this magnasteer to me. Could it really be connected?

if your abs light comes on and you have magna steer the steering will get stiff.

look at the rack from the driver side wheel well. look for a wire leading up to the top of the tranny from the where the column meets the rack. if you see a wire there you have magna steer.

see the plug now? it will be headed up to the tranny, where it plugs in.

I can't see anything from the well, it's covered. My service parts sticker does not have NV7, so I'm assuming there's a good chance I don't have it.
