Ac noise?

Hey so I changed my a/c compressor today because my old one was making noise. Kinda like a wheel bearing noise when the a/c was on and went with the rpm, the higher the rpm the louder it was. So I got a rebuilt one but it's doing the same thing but not as much. Does anyone else's a/c make any noise? Or did I get unlucky and get a bad rebuild?

It's the clutch engaging and disengaging. If it works leave it alone. Coolness is better than no coolness.

Nope nothin. Well actually I replaced the relay switch a while back and I can feel the ac getting slightly cool but I think I need a new compressor and a recharge

And mine makes a constant whirrrrrrr all the time and is more audible with more rpms. So at wot, I hear that over my sc :(

Ya it's annoying! And it sucks cuz I just did the whole job for nothing! Now have to order another one and wait for it to come an watch people turn and look wo seeing wtf that noise is!

yes the clutch engages and the a/c works just fine just dont want to have that loud noise when im trying to be cool lol!

I hear ya. That's why i don't like buying re-man stuff. I buy junkyard OEM parts or Brand New. Never had good luck with anything re-manufactured.

so has anyone ever heard of the a/c system being clogged? apparently this can happen. but what causes this condensation in the lines? another tech in the shop says you shouldnt have it after you do the vacuum... I held the vacuum for 20 mins then added die and did the re-charge everything went normal. dont know whats goin on.

So how do I check for a clogged system? How do I know where it is? Should I be able to hear not noise with a stethoscope on the dryer or condenser? Anyone ever done this?

If you have access to a set of gauges you can check your pressures. In my experience, if you have a restriction, the low side will be lower then it should be and the high side will be higher than it should be. This will get worse as you rev the engine.

did you change the orifice tube and the dryer?

if not id say it safe to say you just killed your new compressor, that stuff holds the junk that the old compressor let loose, and now its most likely in the new parts.

thats why when you go to a shop to have it fixed they charge so much, because they wont just change a compressor.

No I didn't change the dryer or orifice tubes! But my compressor is still working! I just need to know how to check this so I can get the right parts and do it ASAP!

ok so im not getting a lot of help here! i dont know what i have to change here! need a new dryer? orifice tubes? condensor? evaporator? dont know a lot about a/c.
