AC Heater Control Unit????

Well another thing went wrong with my Grand Prix today. I went to turn on the defrost and it will only work when the control is on 5. When it is on 1-4 nothing happens. I heard this is a common problem but what needs to be done to fix it. Is it the blower motor, the whole control unit, etc.

i've got the same problem, only mine works from 3 up...no 1 or 2, i've been assuming it's the switch, but could be wrong....anxious to see what others have to say
