Ac compressor

So I recently fixed a torn ac line. Cold air is coming out for the air vents. But prior to that tear...my compressor clutch would turn off only when I'm waiting for the red light to go green. Would turn back on when I start driving. (NOTE) Only happens during the day, never at night.
Any tips or help in fixing this problem!????
I appreciate it.

I am not exactly clear on what car and year you have, but assuming a 97 -2008 W body is what you have, these use a
variable displacement compressor, the compressor is always engaged when the a/c is "on", (does not cycle on-off) the "v-5" style compressor
adjusts the displacement automatically to adjust for demand on the ac system. So, if the a.c compressor is intermittently disengaging,
could be low of refrigerant, or something else wrong.

Apparently the line i had fixed wasn't tight enough, so it was leaking refrigerant. But now that?s it?s tight the ac is working fine and very cold air coming out. Thanks for the tip.
