So the ac compressor on my GP has gone to crap. Actually, it went bad about 6 months ago...(SETX w/no ac is absolute hell btw)
I had a local a/c shop quote what it would cost to replace/repair -
$900
I walked out thinking I'd just buy a new-er car instead. That is way beyond my budget!
Then a friend suggested buying the part & he'd install it for me.
I started pricing the compressor and discovered that I could definitely afford to go that route instead.
My question is - is there a certain brand of compressor that is far better than others?
Also - has anyone ever purchased parts from discountcompressor.com? (replacement kit is $259 with no core charge.)
