ac compressor bypass

Hey all my ac compressor decided that it no longer wants to cooperate with me and i dont have the funds at the time to really do anything about it. I was wondering if i took the compressor out i could bypass it with a smaller belt or a different tensioner of sorts? What would be the best way to go about this, or if yall could recommend a pulley or belt size it would be very much appreciated oh yeah and its for a 2004 gtp

search ebay for a a/c delete pulley for you year car. you remove the a/c and bolt it in its place. use the stock belt. they run about 40 bucks or so. iirc rockauto sells them too.

Why not just leave it in place, unless the bearing is bad you're not going to gain anything other than a headache of changing the compressor out and removing all of the AC system if that's what you are planning.

Thats exactly why im taking it out the bearing bad and its making a ton of just really nasty sounds so i need a temporary solution that won't break the bank but still allow me to drive butbit doesnt look like the make one that i can tell for my car

You may have to just get a new clutch assembly, it might be the cheapest route. I am not sure if previous years will fit 04+.

If you don't care about AC, for the sake of the next owner please don't delete it. :)

If it's acting up even with the AC off, them i'm with J57ltr on this one. Just replace the clutch assembly. It's probably about the same price as a delete pulley setup.

remove clutch center bolt, rent compressor clutch puller, "remove"/pull out the clutch about 1/8th inch, maybe 3/16ths.

when you start to hear the chingling again the compressor pulley bearings is gonna go you could have 1-20k miles before it dies dep on how badly ****ed the bearing is and how often it was driven through the puddles at the edges of the road....
