Ac Clutch replacement.

RamairGTP2

They call me TriPod
I'm looking at replacing my AC clutch due to it beginning to grind. Whats the easiest way of replacing the clutch without removing the compressor from the car ? I know there are three bolts on the AC clutch assembly. I'm sure someone has had experience with this so any insight would be useful. Also I already know how to remove the entire compressor from the car.........

the clutch is a pita to get off, you need the right tools to take it off and new one back on, not worth the effort. buy a whole new compressor and install it.

some a/c shops may vac your Freon out and then pump it back in after you do your repairs. im sure for a fee. better to save it that waste it.

^^^ i agree. for the work to replace the clutch its not worth it because you replace the clutch and then a year or 2 the actual compressor starts to leak and then you'd be pretty pissed. i think you're better off getting a new one and then not having to worry about doing any repairs to it ever again.

it works fine now. But if ur replacing ur clutch its possibly because its got quite some mileage on it? And it would suck to do that and then have it go out completely on u in a year or 2. Then ud have a bad compressor with a new clutch. Ya know?

idk how far you are up north in wisconsin but if ur fairly close to the southern border you might want that a/c lol
