AC clutch or compressor

hey there I have an 05 gtp recently heard the ac compressor making a odd screech noise wasn't too loud once I kick on the ac noticed noise increased and the smell of smoke and smoke was coming from the compressor the clutch seems to be sticking thinking maybe the clutch bearing is bad??? I also think the smoke is from the serpentine belt not sure has anyone experienced this before? is it better to buy a new compressor or buy a used one and just swap out the clutch so that I don't need to vacuum and refill freon
 


Sounds like the compressor is shot. Best bet would be to get a new compressor and swap it out. The bearings are probably shot in the old one and it's slowly locking up if it's already smoking the belt. Clutch change is a PITA.
