ABS/traction control lights coming on all the time, 04 comp G

I was wondering if anyone else has the same problem of the traction control lights and abs lights coming on all the time? Ive brought it back to the dealer quite a few times now. I bought it back in september with 74k miles on it. Lights came on during test drive. They replaced both front wheel bearings. The lights were off for about a week. Then came on everytime I drove the car. Then they replaced the brake pedal position sensor. It was fine for about 500 miles, and then the lights came back on everytime I drove the car. I brought it back last night and he thinks its definitely electrical, said something about the abs pump. There is a sensor on the back of the pump that he thinks is no good.

I would bet that one of the front abs harnesses to the abs sensor is broken and barley making contact causing ur issue very common problem. They usually break right where they bend up from the control arm to the connector at the hub. Do you have a code? C0035 or C0040 or something? I could help you out if you knew the code?

That is for sure what it sounds like! Usually if its a ebcm problem light will never go out until fixed.. If its a speed sensor problem light will be out in park running until you start to move and it sees a incorrect speed from one of the wheels then light will come on and set code

Dealer's taking you for a ride. A scan will tell the issue, which he's surely done. If it's the EBCM like I think the dealer's telling you, it's like $150 to rebuild, about 10 minutes of work total.

Probably the twisted pair of wires that go from point the bearing to ebcm have issues whether broken or barely making contact.. When I see It happen l run new wires..

But the fact is on all the time might say ebcm. Both common.

He had it scanned with the Tech II system. He said the code that came up was the front left wheel bearing. Which he has replaced twice already. He has replaced it with a bearing from Napa. Now he said he's gonna buy a better one and put it in.

my abs and traction control light came on so i replaced my wheel bearing and the lights went off, about a week later they would come on and go off and now they are both on again, i hooked it up to a scanner and it says its my wheel speed sensor, i bought one and i heard that there are 3 of them is this correct? and how do i find out which one needs to be replaced?

Yez if your car haz 3 wheels, you haz 3 wheel speed sensors. :th_jester:

Why are you still paying this guy? Get it home and check the wheel speed sensor harness to see if there's a broken wire.

If its setting lf wheel speed sensor code then it's the harness from the body to the lf wheel speed sensor connector there is a break in the wire I almost guarantee it. I replace these all the time on w body's at my dealership and usually they come from other shops that replaced the bearing plus many other things and problem still exists then I get them fixed up for about 150 bucks

my 05 comp g trac/stability service lights come on randomly, if i turn car off and back on they seem to go off, seems as if they only come on when i put key in and start it right away, if i let the fuel pump and lights on dash start and go off it doesnt come on, im not sure its an issue as of now.

Im not paying him, He's taken it back like 5 or 6 times now. He fixed the wire from the front pass. hub to the body 3 weeks ago. The light stayed off for 2 weeks. Now they are coming back on, Intermittently. They even come on when the car is just sitting there idling. I think it might be the driver side wires now
