L26 are known to fail in turbo builds.

Not all that surprising.

By spot on, what do mean by that?

How much timing?


etc etc etc etc.

What some consider safe may really not be.
 


Timing wasnt too aggressive from what he told me, there wasnt anything tune wise that would have done it.
 
The main concern would be the knock that the engine would have seen over its life.

It slowly damages the piston.

KR doesn't magically nuke the piston, but a damaged piston seeing just a little kr can cause it fail
