A REAL GT vs. GTP race



what would win a stock 00-03 GP GT vs a stock 07 GP Base. ive heard the 00-03 GT is suppose to be a little faster than the base
 


The 04 up base models or N/A were slower according to some people and one tester but not by much. Anyway damn blue what exactly did that gtp have to beat you like a pulp?

well both are n/a 3800. but 07 would be series 3 which makes what? 20hp more crank? but 04+ are heavier iirc so wouldn't it be about the same then in a race?

I think both would be the same, either way i have a 07 GP base and its still pretty quick for a 200hp 4,100LB boat and i like it and would love to get a gtp later on but not selling this N/A GP. At the end:th_sign-pontiacs:

Ed.. Keep in mind your car is slower than most GTP's based on the extra drag those stickers provide. ;)
 
just cause this video shows a modded gt vs a boltons gtp and the gt getting raped means nothing, the other story's of gt's vs gtp usually has to do with a STOCK GTP. sounds like your trying to say all of it is bull****
I dont know why everyone has to bash people wanting to stay n/a, anyone ever thought we dont want to save thousands up, and yes it thousands cause you NEED a better then stock transmission if you want the car to stay on the road for any good length of time, you have to be mechanicly inclined or your also paying for the work to be done to your car. I do like spending money on other things lol.
not trying to be the fastest thing out there, I want to atleast keepup without having to go through car payments all over again. I would honestly be happy if could keep up to a stock gtp
/ beat a gtp. when i get other more important things to save up for, like ahouse and and a garadge to put a v8 rwd monster or my turbo(wishful thinking) Impala in then ill worry about breaking faster then 15 seconds in the qtr lol. but for now waiting for cheap used boltons to buy from other people that are moving on is good enough for me.

I have no problem with people staying N/A, I was just busting blues balls (seewutididthar?). I honestly don't care, but when people want to go faster they're most likely going to spend a lot more money then someone with boost.


Bill, I use those as victory flags when I pass ricecars.

Dunno what you are talking about. I just pulled a perfectly good 194K mile original transmission out of my Regal after misdiagnosing it as being bad. Engine is still original too. And it walks all over a lot of cars. Just like an NA can.

I already went threw a tranny and very scared to go threw that ordeal again after see alll these threads of ppl tranny's poopin out. if it happens again im pulling the trigger and getting a T.E.P tranny.
 
i know mine will beat a stock gtp how it is. who knows what ill do come this summer. l67 swap or just ported heads, lim and custom grind for mine. i honestly dont care. i know ill be dropping a tk trans in early next year or late this summer so who knows.
