A lot of exhaust smoke after rebuild

Just got my rebuild done after about a year(thanks everybody for the help along the way). Fired her up and there was an abnormal amount of exhaust coming out. I did install the xp cam and its catless now. Could it just be everything burning off? Or should I expect this for now on?

Smoke is normal after a rebuild, especially when you don't tell us why you had to rebuild or what happened during the total failure.

Smoke could be coolant leftover in the exhaust from your failure if it was somethiing along those lines. Could be condensation and oil that may be in the cylinders from the rebuiild (very common), could be many things. All of which should hopefully burn off within 45 minutes or so of idling.

If it's running good and smooth, let it run. Tell the neighbors you are trying out a new mosquito avoidance technique.

there could be some moisture in the motor that is just burning off, what color is it?

you should do an oil change right after a build anyways to get anything out that might be in the motor. fwiw the motor has a lot of smoke in the winter before it heats up if that makes you feel better.

I can't imagine winter in Florida right now causing this. It's either junk in the exhaust that is burning off, something in the cylinders from assembly, or you have an issue.

What do you mean by "abnormal amount of exhaust coming out"? Is this smoke, or just a higher velocity of exhaust fumes with no smoke/color? If no smoke then it could just be because you're catless. Not sure if you need a tune for that either.

The rebuild was due to a blown piston. I started it up again today and the smoke is completely gone. Two posts because my phone has a mind of its own. Mechanically the car is sound. Now onto the electrical nightmare... original owner destroyed the electronics. A/f and oil temp gauge he installed don't work, projectors aren't working, fan motor burnout and that's just the start. Still got a long road ahead haha
