Thanks. I figured 34 or 36 for a GM. The after market ones that I saw were 34, but GM had some odd stock numbers. I just did one for my sister last year and found her torque value to be something like 250 ft/lbs. :/ The highest my torque wrench goes is 150, so then I'm just guessing after that.

Also, thanks again for the tip on the spare tire. I'd have popped out the center cap of the rim, and possibly broke it in the process.

You can also just put a screwdriver in the brake rotor vents that will prevent the assembly from spinning

That's true. It's not nearly as much torque as I expected.

i used a 4 foot pipe on a 1/2 drive breaker bar to break mine loose. it was that tight and the exposed threads were rusty too.

If you want to spend money for a name go ahead I was just giving the another option. All parts made and distributed in the US have to meet SASE standards. Detroit Axle has been around 70 yrs. My god do what ya want. Some people would b#$ch if they were hung with a new rope.

They are cheap and have crap reviews for a reason. I would rather do the work once. My time is worth more than "saving" $60 but having to do the job 4 times.

Detroit axle doesn't make the bearing, they are the distributor.

The new rope would break if it was made in China at the same factory that can make and sell 2 bearings with abs sensors and 2 tie rod ends for $76 half way around the world and make a profit.
