kia/sonata 2.4 have 200 hp N/A.
honda has a 190 hp 2.4
and the rest are all kinda in the ballpark.
Road cars are designed around the engines torque curve not HP. 4 cylinders are limited by the number of combustions per revolution.
I would much rather have a 2.4L 6 than a 2.4L 4 cylinder. I don't care how much HP a 4 cylinder has; it's just not the same in a road car.
Now for racing, that's a different story. The 4 banger is notoriously durable at very high RPM, making it perfect for racing.
4 cylinder engines are extremely cheap to manufacture. IMHO this is the only reason they're used in road cars. They sure as hell don't have fuel efficiency that most people think.
