• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

A few issues

Yes, the one on the rear fuel rail. I seen another thread about the same issue, I'm going to do the same thing that was recommended in that thread.

your going to need a quick disconnect tool to get it apart, and change the O rings, but make sure you get the orange O rings, the black ones aren't rated for fuel.

oh and a cheep pick set, your going to wish you had a set if you do try to do it with out them, makes life easy for 5 bucks. O ring set cost me like 6 to 8 iirc.

oh and napa was the only store to carry them around here.

I got the disconnect tools and a pick set, so I just need the O-rings now :th_thumb-up:

I'm glad you understand these things we're suggesting and take the initiative and get **** done. You sir are a good man in my eyes.

Ty sir! I appreciate all your guys' help! I've never worked on this particular car and don't want to take the chance if I got guys right here that have done it before.

I got to lookin around and found a motor and trans from a 98, 3800 series 2 and trans for $300. They will both work in my 01 right? If so I'm thinkin project time :)

What you guys think??

You don't need the fuel line tool. If you look at it, there are two tabs you squeeze that go up into the full plastic piece, squeeze the two tabs and pull the connector off

Ok, I'm sure I can figure it out. How many are there per line? I think I'm just going to change the front line o-ring too while I'm doing the back one.

What you guys think of the 98 - 3.8 motor and trans for $300? Good deal? It will work in my 01 right?

yeah thats a deal alright, is it a s/c motor and trans? if so its a real deal. get it, build it them put it in when its got everything done to it, thats my plan. that way the car has less down time.

the guy i just got parts from off a part out wants 1000 for the engine alone, 80,000 miles on it. 2000 regal gs engine s/c.

It's just a N/A motor with 175k on it. I figured I would rebuild the motor and do a top swap on it, then rebuild and maybe beef the trans a bit. Now I'm definately going to pick them up, thanks again guys!

What all cars do the s/c motors come in?
