I'm trying to figure out where my statement that I'm on GPF because of owning two of them means I want to pretend they're race cars?

I didn't see any ass sucking of the boss owner going on in that thread. Just people giving the car props for what it is, mostly for it's sound. The boss owner didn't even post the video there, you make it sound like he's looking for a pat on the back for beating a turbo regal. All this talk of mustangs being a dime a dozen, and mustangs being slow, I can accept that. I'm not sure what your bashing of mustangs has to do with this thread but you obviously wanted to get that in, good job.

You said you have to spend big money to make mustangs fast...don't you drive a 3.5 intrigue? I'm not hating on your ride, I just think it's silly for you to hate on any platform in that regard considering your own. Judging from your other thread, it's not just a daily driver to you. "Stock for stock LS cars are faster", blanket statements like these can sometimes be incorrect, this one is no different.
 
IMO, this thread wasn't about the Ford guy, until he started the random stupid postings backing up the credibility of the Regal. He took me wrong right of the bat, and honestly, I don't give a sh!t. The Regal owner sucks, and the CTS-V sucks more. LOL
 
The Ford guy is probably getting hacked by Flake anyways.

No one nutswings from a Regal that much anyways.

You are correct, I've seen Mustangs take LS cars, but I have seen LS cars take Mustangs more often. Stock for stock isn't a blanket statement, it's facts. Take the same year model GT and put it up against an f-body...who wins? It's easy really.
Also correct in the fact that I have a 3.5 Intrigue that I'll admit I thought was fast for a while, but I hadn't driven anything but a lifted Tacoma for years before it, so my judgement was cloudy. It is currently driven like grandma taking it to church, and will continue to be because I'm tired of fooling myself.
Wasn't trying to bash on Mustangs, just stated the truth, they have small engine sizes compared to GM muscle cars, and they are all over.

The thread title is related to Mustangs, it's not like I'm some Mustang Nazi who just directed my hatred at them off the wall.
A few years ago a friend of mine was crashing the couch. Had a 99' GT with loads of bolt-ons. One night this guy comes by with what he claimed to be an LT-4 powered Camaro AT-4. We raced 6-7 times, every time the GT walked away and we had 3 in it. Same GT got handled by an 02' SS with absolutely nothing done to it. All I can say is I respect a Mustang, but bow to the LSX.

I'm sorry but I'd rather have a 5.0 mustang than an fbody. There's a reason why you see more of them, they appeal to the masses much better, and for the car enthusiasts that matter, Cobras, Bosses, Mach 1's and the new 5.0's were made(I can't stand regular mustangs from a performance standpoint). That Boss is awesome, and so is Nick's Regal. You don't like Nick? That's fine, I respect that, but don't tell me in the same breath that you don't appreciate what he did with that Regal. He's chased down cars that would push most owners car's chit in that post here. It's a god damn Regal. Giving 5.0 mustangs and *most* bolt on LSx cars a run for their money. That's impressive to say the least.

And lol @ the Ellisyuantech thread. I'm dying over here from laughing so hard. Errbody's jimmies are rustled.

They are also more often factory boosted and utilize DOHC engine's that like to rev vs. the low end grunt of a standard LS pushrod motor.

Okay Ed, he did a turbo 3800... So he did something other turbo 3800 owners didn't??

My buddies regal is turbo, we've hurt alot of fbody, mustang or vette owners with it.

He did a turbo setup. He did the TVS....And guess what? He was a douchebag about it the whole time.
 
Like blue said...I would rather buy an fbody for 10k than 30k for a new 302 and spend way less on the fbody and still make more power, more easily than the mustang.

You're adding stipulations to better suit your argument. We can only include GT's? We can only compare same year models? That leaves out 03 04 cobras, what about 5.0's? Are those off the table too?

You said "mustangs" before, not GT's of the same year. Even then, you're wrong. Which is why I said the blanket statement was a bad idea, you would be correct if you said most, instead you said all.

Again your right, should've said most, but from the get go I said stock for stock. So take a Cobra up against what an SLP, Langen and it's still clear which vehicle is faster.
I said GT because they are common as is a z28/Formula/TA

I'm not saying he's traveling down his own path, I'm saying he's doing something that most on this forum don't do. which is build a great setup that makes great power. Can you tell me how many people on this forum HAVE a good, reliable and well thought out turbo setup? Even then, some of them cut corners, buy the wrong parts, or just give up(sadly I'm one of those people).

See, I never really like this train of thought. Don't get me wrong, I bought my Daytona because I knew I was going to end up spending a lot of money on my car, and it'd be silly to buy a new car just to replace most of the stuff on or in it. However, I could walk into a dealership right now and comfortably afford a new camaro or a low mileage G8. It makes no sense to me to buy a used car, mod it and tease new/newer car owners about how much money I saved. Of course buying used will save you money, new car owners could have done that as well, but they didn't. People forget that when you buy a new car, you're most likely buying a cutting edge technology, mint condition parts/interior, warranty and most likely better on gas, and sometimes insurance, not to mention it's usually safer and has more creature comforts. There's more to buying new than all out power/speed.
 


I'm with you Ed, I really am..

But I am saying that the LS platform is still way ahead of Ford. Even the new LT1 is still a basic pushrod engine. One cam, not four. And it still makes more power without needing to strap a blower to the top.
