• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

A/C quite for the house

Sudden

I meant quit. It was 80* when I got home from work, went up to 81*. Thing was running good at lunch time. Everything worked but the fan on the compressor. I had a old square fan, so I laid it face up on the compressor and it's drawing the air through pretty good. I'm getting cold air in the house now. If it starts raining i'll be screwed. Can't get anyone to fix it until tomorrow.

After I wrote this I went outside and it was raining. Made a little cover to try to keep my fan dry. I hope it works. Temp back down to 80*, my quick fix is working.

LOL you are *****ing about 80 degree temps? Get back to me when your A/C goes out on a Saturday night in 100+ degree weather and no one can make it out till Monday.

It was only 89* today. Going to be in the 90s for the next three days. It got up to 80* in the house before I got my temp fix in. No one can get here until tomorrow (I hope). I love Texas, shopped for a house there twice. But, I've decided I wouldn't live there, It's nicer here. Must be rough not having good service. I'll have a second unit installed in a month or so.

You should try our humidity. real temp was over 100*.

Where do you live?

Things like this are why I am good friends with the guy down the street who in an A/C guy and runs his own company. He has been over in the middle of the night repairing my A/C. He has earned every cookie, pie, etc we have ever taken him.

We had a guy like that. He took a job with the county and now sits on his butt and doesn't want to do anything. My rig is still working. It seems like the fan outside doesn't want to start on it's own. So I have to keep it going.

You guys quit your whining and come down to AZ and you'll see what heat is, 100* today will go up to 115 by friday:) My A/C is not very consistent either lol

shut up with your dry heat.

100% humidity and 85* is insanely awful.

my AC runs 24/7 in the summer and my house is 72* or less. **** heat.

Durn right. We had 91* here today and 95* tomorrow. The humidity makes it well over 100* every day. I spent time in the desert in TX, NV, and CA. I prefer that to this humidity any day.

Wah its still hot :) Dry or not if it says 115* its 115*

Sure, 115 is 115, But 115 with no humidity feels worlds different than 115 swith humidity.

Our summers here are usually 90-100* and 85 or 90% humidity.

I would die without A/C. In my office at work I keep the stat at 68. No pay for utilities = as cold as I want it to be.
