when replacing the a/c compressor and dryer how much oil should be added to the system?

When I did this a few months ago, I was told to empty the oil into a container and put back what came out. Go a hair heavy since the new part is dry. So if 6 oz comes out, put in about 6.5-7 oz. O do not mix the oil with anything, i mixed it with some old PS fluid and the next day I came out to a bloated container

okay thanks, should the oil be added to the compressor or into the accum?

both....what ever comes out of the compressor should go in and what ever comes out of the accumulator should go in. I did not get much out of my accumulator, I just dumped in a little extra in there. So I might have added a total of 1oz extra in the entire system
