Plan on updating my car this summer a lil I've never changed the AC drier... Would it not be a bad idea to go ahead and get a new one..??? It's 2000.

Is your AC not working or not working well? That's the only reason to open the AC system.

I have a small leak somewhere I'm pretty sure is the compressor clutch... Last summer My buddy charged it up and end up putting in one small can like a month or so later.... We had a really hot summer so it got used ALOT
its dry right now ac won't kick on

Then it kinda sounds like you need to fix the compressor, replace the drier, orifice tube and reseal the whole system.

Wait I did at two cans to it last year cause of it being so hot... It had to be pretty filled to blow out "cold cold" on those 95* + days!! But after 10-15 min of driving it was cool in the car

I thought about buying a new compressor but I've heard the off brand ones don't put out very cold air... I dont want to spend $200 for an AC Delco..

Well..if your comprressor has the leak, and you aren't changing that.....then I don't see how changing a drier would help anything.
