i use my gt as a beater d/d , the ac no longer works and now the compresoor took a dump and the clutch is making a ton of rattling noise. any way to delete the compressor and run a shorter belt ? did they ever make a 3.8 without a/c where they used a idler pulley in place of the compressor ?

I have a similar problem... my compressor is on its way out, and I am not sinking any more money into my car so I want to do without it.

I am thinking of buying a AC delete pulley, but before I do that I am wondering if I can't just hollow out/dissemble my old compressor and run it as a bypass pulley? Has anyone done this? Difficult?
