So recently I recently was in an accident...

With that in mind this said accident pierced a hole in my condensor as I found out today. Soo the shop i took Otto (my car) to said he needs to replace a few of the parts Along with the AC condesor. Sooo without further adue, if you may please analyze the photo below and Explain What parts exactly are listed in the picture below (aside from condensor of course). This would help me greatly! I plan on pullin junkyard parts cause i aint got money for new shizz.

The only actual part on there is the condenser
And really I would think id just need to take the old condenser out...put new one in...and charge the system. Dunno why their doing all that other stuff

Lol... Funny you say that cause i was thinking the same thing. Thank you for your opinion awesome sir! He was trying to tell me about how moisture is getting into the A/C system because of the hole and going to be ruining components inside it.

I should also mention that when i turn on the A/C the compressor kicks on but no air blows through the vents.

AND already got a condensor too...

Ya know....u could probably do it your self. I could under stand them purging the system of all the old stuff cause that'd be good.

But u should just install the condenser and all ur self. Then have them just vacuum the system out and refill the system

When I retro-fitted my old truck to 134A from R12 I had to use a special vacuum system to get all the old out of the truck.

Not at all. Lack of time to do it myself at this time and I refuse to drive it without AC so it's worth it. It's a rather cheap fix.. So it's worth it.

Sike. Took wht little free time I had to put the car back together.

Let's see..wisdom teeth got pulled a week ago, started skool again and little side jobs = 0 time to mess with AC crap!

Don't be calling me out bro!

Lol you two crack me up! But I agree With red on this one... I got lucky that I got a week long summer break to put the car back together. Otherwise i aint got much time outside of school. Im not immediately worried about AC... I can deal without. I Really hope your right marine in the fact that all i need to do is replace my condensor and fill up freon...

But im confused becuase what does the condensor have to do with me turnin on the AC and nothing blowing through the vents =/?

my a/c blows out warm air like I have the heat on, but weird thing is when I turn it on 1-3 don't blow and turn my lights off but it blows on 4 and 5.:th_scratchhead:

if its not blowing at all, hot or cold air, one or the other are bad. fan or the resistor.

take the glove box off, you should see the fan, check to see if anything has fallen into the squirrel cage and is jamming it. ( maybe something flew into it during the crash) see if you can turn it also, see if is smooth spinning by hand.

you can also check for power at the resistor and the fan.

They are replacing seals and re lubing the system. When it waspierced you lost some oil with the refrigerant, but can't tell how much. They are doing the correct route so you don't fry your compressor too.

Here's what you want to do.. get a seal kit and put your condensor in. Change only the two seals where it connects to the rest of the system. Then have someone vacuum it down and charge it for you.

Having high and low side gauges along with vacuuming is key to fixing an AC system properly.

I could make a case for a new drier (also pag oil for the drier) and then potentially an orifice tube (you'd hate me if I suggested that though). Likely you can just do what I said at first and have good ac.
