99GTP oil smell/leak

I just bought a 99 GTP from a retired original owner. It is in very good shape. I have had it a couple weeks and have noticed a slight burning oil smell after driving it. Today was the first time I have put a lot of miles on it (100 or so) and I noticed some oil on the garage floor. The car has only had about 10000 miles out on it since 2007 so I am worried about dried or cracked gaskets. I don't notice anything out of he ordinary when I drive it. It has never had the intake manifold gaskets done. They are still black, not silver. What are your thoughts?

I would look at valve covers and the oil pan gasket.

Valve cover leak can cause the oil to hit the manifolds and start the car on fire and you don't want that.

probably the front valve cover leaking onto the exhaust mani, but as for the oil on the ground I would point to the oil pan gasket, those are notorious as well.
get those lim gaskets done and you ought to have a solid babied car.

What's a good ballpark estimate for those jobs? I know the parts are cheap. I could probably tackle it but honestly don't have the time. I've got a guy that is retired from GM that has a small shop. He's usually about half of dealer costs and I've never had an issue with his work. I may just have him do it. Just not sure what to expect as far as price though.

Check the oil pressure switch that's by the oil filter. It is a common problem. It can leak through the connector and leak on the ground on the passenger side. My valve cover gaskets also caused the burning oil smell. Change them for sure.

If you smell it, it's valve covers. If you see it after a long drive, it's valve covers.

Labor to swap the covers is 1.5 in the book. It'll take someone on the ball about an hour.
