99 gtp...

Re: 99 GTP...halfsie wiring tuckage, IC/Gen V on

Where did you pick it up from? If it was one of the websites then I would bring it up with them and see if they'll replace it for you or give you a discount on a new one or something...

Re: 99 GTP...halfsie wiring tuckage, IC/Gen V on

The IC was from a member on here. I got it cheap and banged up and I replaced the core with a brand new one off of Rockauto before I put it on.

Re: 99 GTP...halfsie wiring tuckage, IC/Gen V on

It's a whole lot of pita for not much gain being that I'm also on e85. Now my whole setup is arranged around the intercooler too. Without it my N* TB had to be flipped back over because the throttle linkage hit the tstat housing. Then my IAC and TPS wires had to be pulled back out of the harness to reach. The boost control solenoid, Evap solenoid and MAP sensor don't have anything to mount to. The belt wrap won't fit around my fuel line fittings. My PCV line and harness can't go under the TB anymore. Pulling it off screwed my whole setup, now I've got a bunch of **** ziptied on and janky looking, exactly what I rerouted all that **** to avoid.

Re: 99 GTP...halfsie wiring tuckage, IC/Gen V on

I'm glad I read your story, and sorry for your troubles. Perhaps a turbo setup --with air to air I/C is a better choice when you want to go past a "stage 1" vanilla grocery getter ...And as one poster said, Fox body Mustangs were great, but I retired both of mine primarily due to One cop that knew where I worked-and my commute routes, and even stalked me when I drove my pickup! I finally formed an LLC and titled my new truck and gtp to my LLC and that finally foiled him. one thing I really do like about the gtp is when I take the PA Turnpike to visit relatives I get~29mpg over 220 miles with the cruise on 75 mph. The old 'stang was lucky to average 15-16 mpg at 70! Awesome work the whole way through! Wish you had better results. Best wishes whatever you do, but if nothing else, you certainly inspired quite a few, myself included! Thanks for Sharing, I know you helped a lot of folks, myself included!

Re: 99 GTP...halfsie wiring tuckage, IC/Gen V on

Hows the car man? You remember what the intercooler core was for when you ordered it off rock auto?

Re: 99 GTP...halfsie wiring tuckage, IC/Gen V on

The core is for a ford probe/escape/Mazda 626 etc.. Spectra p/n 93046 is the one I am using. I put a brand new one in when I put the IC setup together for the first time and ordered another one this week. I just received my new one today and it has a ring of foam crap glued all around the outside edge so now I have to wire wheel all that off. The first 93046 I got didn't have that.

Re: 99 GTP...halfsie wiring tuckage, IC/Gen V on

So that fit into a zzp stage 2 IC plate? I thinks I need to buy some plate and start machining!

Re: 99 GTP...halfsie wiring tuckage, IC/Gen V on

It is the same core that they used to build them. They claim they have a special core made just for them now but I think that's BS. I read somewhere that If you reverse Google image search thier stock photo of thier "special" core it comes up on alibaba Chinese supplier website.

Pretty excited, Just bought a minty pfyc F1 hood for $100. Local shop is parting out a car with the magic disappearing rear strut towers. I dont think they know what it even is, we went out to look at it after i paid and he's like "is that all fiberglass?" No pics yet they haven't pulled the car in to tear it apart yet so I'm waiting to pick it up. Its that greyish bronze metallic color so it needs to be painted also, might not be on the car for a while.
