• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

99 GTP (P0756 error code)

Usually just a resistance check with a DVOM.

I don't remember the exact values. They're somewhere in the trans build thread in my sig. Or Google.

Nevermind. A quick google search and 10 minutes later I had my answer. Got valve body apart. There was some metal flakes in it but other than that nothing. One of the plungers feels weak like it has a bad spring or something.

Ok guys big update time.

When cleaning everything found a plugged up orifice on the spacer plate. Also, one of the screens on the spacer plate was plugged up. Everything cleaned out now. Valve body had a big chunk of something, thinking built up clutch material. Reassembling today, everything is quite clean and ready to go. If everything goes to plan i'll have all gears and be good as new (I can hope). Either way, i'm going to pickup a used transmission/engine saturday. What's the best rebuild kit for our transmissions? Wanting to build it up to stay mainly stock, maybe a 3.5 pulley drop tops. As long as it can handle wot.

Again, thanks for all input!

They're pretty much all the same. Minor differences in clutch material for some of the clutches, but most are Trans-Tek seal and gasket set, Raybestos steels and Borg-Warner clutches. For a mostly stock setup, a standard kit will be fine. The important thing is how you set it up.

Do you have a Transtar nearby? That's my go to.

Sadly no. But good to know. I'd be putting in the used trans if this didn't work out and then rebuilding said trans that's in the car. As long as I could mash on the gas, some wot here and there I'll be ok.

Shift cable is good again. Leaking transmission fluid from side cover, new gasket in 2 days. I just can't catch a break.

Is it leaking where the Torx bolts are? If so may be a cracked side cover. Very easy to do when tightening down. Ask me how I know. Lol! Just double check so you don't put the new gasket on and still have a leak.

Yeah down at the bottom around the bolts. We simply tried to use the old brand new gasket but where it had fallen apart we used gasket maker to help seal it. The new one will be here tomorrow.

Found me a good parts car as well! Guess this makes up for all of my bad luck. Some guy selling it for $500

Parts car is trash. Oh well. Good news is that it turns out my car is running a 3.5 pully and a 3 inch down pipe. Yay

Well, after one month and 3 tear downs everything works. It shifts gears pretty good but it shifts hard 2-3 around 50. Revs up to almost 3.5k so I think its running a custom tune. Has a stupid p0401 code now which is the egr valve? Anyway, thanks for all of the help. I'll put a summary of what all we did to fix it up in the first post to help future viewers.
