i have a 99 grand pix with the 3.1

ok got a couple problems:

First one is i changed fuel filter now car doesnt like to start after its been sitting like 10 min. before i changed it would fire up real quick.

second prob when heater switch is on def. and i turn on fan i hear ac unit kick on but not when its off def.

thirdly drivers window seems to get stuck on the backside of window frame when i roll it up. not sure how to line that up

and can anyone tell me roughly what my mpg should be?

Thanks!

AC unit will turn on, on defrost as it removes moisture from the air. Thats normal.

And you say it doesnt want to start, what does it do, just crank and crank and not fire or does it just take longer for it start.

It seems to not be getting fuel right away. I can either crank 2-3 times and it will start or energize ignition and turn off a couple times to get fuel pressure built. in my opinion thats what it seems like

How about the FPR in the fuel rail?

Might have to remove the intake manifold for that?

Not sure on the 3100/3400.

ok I was told by my wife I also did fuel sending unit at the same time. I thought I did it a couple hrs before and it was fine after that but I cant remember my birthday so I also had pulled fuel pump out if that helps diagnose! Remember the woman is always right!

ok pulled access panel everything appeared dry no sign of leak. figured i would pull fuel line to see if it had pressure and nothing. so somewhere somehow its losing pressure any ideas?

there is suposed to be a one way check valve in the sending unit so the fuel line doesn't loose its prime. if this doesn't work the fuel drains back in the tank and then takes longer for the fuel to get from the tank to the injectors, which gives you a longer crank time.

where is this check valve? in the top of unit or down in the bottom?

ok I found my problem the fuel line going from the pump to top of unit had a hole. I replaced it with a rubber fuel line and works like it should! Also the check valve is part of the pump itself. Thank you all!
