98 GTP Tail light Mod?

Hey I have searched around a little bit, and I haven't found anyone doing any mods to the stock tail lights. Mind you all I didn't really look into it extensively but I just wanted to know. Has anyone take out the black "line-looking" thing in their tail lights? I put it in quotes because I have no idea what to call it lol. I know that I could bake them for a little bit and take them out, but I would rather see a tutorial first. Any help is always appreciated, thanks guys!
 


You can't bake the tail lights, only the headlights. You would have to cut them open with like a dremel or something
 
the reason why I wanted to do this is because a couple of those lines are kinda hanging down now and a little broken, so I wanted to clean it up.

but the lines are glued down to the the lens tighter and more secure than a witches labia during a new moon
 


if your going to tear them apart, maybe run some LED strips in them. I've had more than one day dream about doing something like that.
 
i cut my old gtp's open to install giant 4"round led trucking lights. needless to say flip finished them and they are as of late no longer in the community
