98 GTP noise when turning.

The following was copy/pasted from a different site i found with google. He describes my issue exactly but there was only one answer to it and i wanted more opinions.

I have a 1998 Grand Prix that makes a noise when turning. The best way i can describe the noise is that it sounds slightly like a whale. kind of a 'whurrrmm' sound but not a metallic grinding sound or anything like that. it used to make this noise only when i made really tight turns. now the noise seems to occur more frequently while driving. sitting parked and turning the wheel is most noticeable. i have noticed that if i push the accelerator when turning (even slightly) that the noise will not happen when driving. also, i can feel something in the wheel when the noise occurs. what would cause my car to do this and how could i fix it?
thanks

The one answer was that he needed a new belt tensioner and idler pulley. I thought it might be power steering related but i dont know **** really. What do you guys think?

Shouldn't matter if it's hot or not. If you look at the stick when you check it there should be a "cold" and "hot" line on it. If it's cold just fill it up till it hits the line. Once you get it full then it should shut up. Then you can look for the leak.
