i was on my way home tonight going up a hill and my gtp stalled, no sputtering no loud bangs, just stalled. attempted to start it back up a few times and got nothing. all fuses seem to be good, fuel pump is turning on engine is turning over. any ideas on what it could be? please let me know as this is my only car and well i needs to get to work! any help would be very much appriciated!:th_peaceout:

Check your fuel pressure at the rail. Your pump could still be running but be weak.

how do i check the pressure at the rail? and so everyone knows i went out there this morning and the car started right up, im affraid to drive it and get stuck again :(. any other ideas besides cps or fuel rail pressure that may have caused this headache?

It does sound like a fuel pump if it starts every now and again. There is a schrader valve on the front of the rail that you hook a pressure gauge to and it'll tell you the pressure.

Does it fire up and stall each time you turn the key off, then back to on/start? Or does it not try to start at all?

First thought would be
Fuel pump resistor

when it stalled it just stalled and then wouldnt start again. the next morning when i woke up it started right up and i drove it all day and it had no issues, no sputtering no stalling. i am completely lost as to what the issue may be. i mean as long as it doesnt happen again then im not gonna worry too much about it. i did however buy a crank position sensor that i am going to put on some time this week just to be safe.:th_scratchhead:

That happened to a car i was working on for a while and it ended up being the fuel pump. It would run fine for a day or so then not start. Then it would start up a day or so later.

hmmm maybe ill take her back to the dealership and tell them what happend and say that i want the pump replaced completely or something.
