98-03 Gtp vs 2004+ Gtp

Drive by wire is the term used for electronic throttle control.

a cable has instantaneous throttle response.

A wire must rely on ADC's and DAC's as well as a computer to open the throttle.

Not saying you'll notice the difference.... but I am say you wont notice the difference in throttle response.

The fueling isn't controlled by the throttle plate, but rather the MAF and O2 sensor.

And any fuel economy gains will be negated by the extra 200 lbs you have to lug around.

NONE are forged. There powder coated

Swan racing's are.... :D

yes but deoending on how much you open the throttle tells the computer how much fuel oxygen to let in. electronics will alwaays be more acurate then a wire. hence the car becomes more efficient.

Powdered metal is more durable and reliable than conventional cast iron, delivering greater anticipated life. As importantly, the powdered metal rods are stiffer than the cast iron parts they replace.

Wire you mean cable? drive by wire Vs cable just boils down to throttle response. The maf controls fueling. I fail to see any pionts here

maf and throttle are all tied together is my point lol

people will forever argue over this. You can find people, who believe in electronic and some will believe in the old way

i REALLY don't understand this thread.

There are still reasons not to buy the 04+ like secondary AIR system, 200 lbs more curb weight, cost, 04/05 require a change of LCA's to upgrade sway bars.

But quit caring so much and look at whats available in your area for what you're willing to spend.

In the end thats what matters, what pleases you.

What AIR system?

Not a valid point...the MAF isn't in the throttle body in the '04+ cars like in the '97-'03.

Mooooooooot.

It also has nothing to do with the throttle...as the TPS controls that.

yea because the blower is better on the 04, and the engine is a little stronger. with less boost you get more power on the 04 and up. thats why a lot of 97-03 guys want m90 superchargers, there much better.

Um the 97-03 had M90s too just a different version. Series II 3800 had a Gen III Eaton M90 supercharger the Series III 3800 had a Gen V Eaton M90 supercharger.
