97 Steering Wheel Controls

My 97 GP's steering wheel controls were sticking causing the volume to turn down randomly. I am looking for replacement modules and I cannot find one with the closed-back design. Am I able to swap them with the open back design? It has the same connector and looks like it has the proper spots cut out on the steering wheel for it to clip in. If not does anyone have them they'd be willing to sell? If I don't find anything I will just scour a junkyard/salvage yard. Thanks!
 


My 97 did the same thing. I just snagged some from the yard. Worked great. I don't think it was from another 97 but not sure. Looks a little different but had the same hookup and works.
 
wish i seen those, mine were sticking so i opended when i change all my lighting, work great now. just some cleaning and making sure of the contacts hitting correctly.
