97 GTP Vs 07 Civic SI

So one of my buddies from work just got an 07 Civic SI stock manual and all shift long he was talking so much crap about how his car would beat my "TGP"(he doesn't know what a GTP is). So after work we did 4 runs , 2 from a dig and 2 from a roll . He got me on the 30 rolls by about 1 car length but from a dig I put like 2 car lengths on him, I feel that I could use more top end on my car but was satisfied that I beat him on a dig by that much. My mods are headers, 3.4 , overkill pcm , CAI , AL104's, lets see how he does when I do the XP cam swap with the Gen V and reptile tune :)

( I took video but its hard to maneuver with one hand on the steering wheel especially on a curve road:)
 




I raced a buddy of mine with a 99 SI but it has some B17 or 16c or some honda thing swapped into it... We ran from a 10 roll and I MURDERED him.. From a 70 roll I pulled like 2 cars on him.... BTW this was when I was totally stock..


Point is that VTEC thing helps them at higher speeds

No wonder he kept revving that Vtech up lol he wanted the "Vtech" to kick in

Wait you have a 3.4 setup and lost to supposed stock civic Si from a 30 roll? Somethings wrong, that 30mph punch is our cars sweet spot and you should have put at least 2 lengths on him from a roll as well. Hell dig could have been another length or two on him but again you should have killed him on the rolls too.

oops, sorry. but still you should have had him. what mph were you starting at on the roll? next time do a 55 roll and have your car in 2nd. after you punch it, put it back in D.

only way i could beat a S2000 with intake header and exhaust when i had my 3.5 pulley. if i started in 4th, he would nail my by 2 cars instantly and i had to play catch up

True, I was shocked myself but ooh well its just a race a basically a wash , its fun to blow some steam after a long day :)
 


Those newer k20z3 Si's are no joke. Stock for stock I always lost from a 30mph+ roll vs a friends 08. They are quick I don't care what anyone says.
