Its not throwing any codes was getting a code for the map but we put a new one in. starts right up fp primes to around 50 then after about 2 or 3 seconds jumps to 35 than consistantly falls till it dies. replaced the pump still does it. replaces the fpr still does it. checked for vac leaks. tested the voltage to the pump switched out the map with a known good one still does it. any help would be great its running pig rich when it starts...burns your eyes. Would a bad computer cause the fuel injectors to stay open at all times causing it to loose pressure??? ANY HELP WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED. THANKS, BRANDON

Doubtful that the computer is keeping the fuel injector's open. I would say pull your injectors and check them for blockage....maybe this is a long shot but change out your fuel filter also. Which code were you getting when you replaced the MAP sensor?

When you turn the key to the "on" position, do you hear the fuel pump priming???

I dont see how blockage would make it loose pressure....gain yes but not loose unless they are not closing all they way but it would have to be all of them...the code I was getting for the map not sure I have a snap on solus that I use and it just said map sensor...also the pump is priming as stated "starts right up fp primes to around 50 then after about 2 or 3 seconds jumps to 35" the pump is working.

I had this SAME exact problem a few months ago...Take out the Idle Air Control and clean it off with a brush and a cleaner...I thought it was the injectors, pump, alternator...turned out the IAC was just wicked gunked up.

tried cleaning it still does it. A mechanic friend of mine said that the connector's on the top of the fuel pump assembly like to burn out we only replaced the pump not the whole assembly. Anyone ever heard of this happening?

MAF sensor? my car was doing something somilar a few months ago...unplug the MAF and if the car starts u know thats the problem

you are than man did the bypass runs pretty decent now. Only Im having no is a random missfire im thinking map sensor it runs great if its idling or your barely on the gas. but if it makes and boost it misses and chugs and jerks. But I would like to thank everyone for there ideas and help I couldnt have done it without you guys. Also how do I fix the resistor the right way....is this a factory gm part I need to go buy?
