97 GTP//Motor runs like its missing....

I've got a 97 GTP with a little over 240k, now, its not running too well, she sounds like a damn tractor or Harley, sounds like it's missing, but did a compression check all cylinders over 120, New plugs and wires. Ran a diagnostic check, kept saying MAF and EVAP, so replaced my EGR and MAF(which was already fairly new) New coil packs, me my dad and uncle are stumped. Thought it could be injectors but wouldn't that come up on the Scanner? And exhaust is cut off behind the CAT due to it being plugged, so it has a hole in it.
Any more thoughts, or if someone else has experienced this, please help!! Tired of throwing money at parts that don't do the trick.

Thanks Anthony.

All cylinders over 120 but how far apart were the highest and lowest? You could have a blown LIM gasket and it wouldn't show up there.

i got my 97 with 209k on it with wiped cyl 1 cam lobes. by the time i got it the lifters had been chewed apart by the cam journals that neither pushrod was touching the rocker.

it was a slight miss that "got worse and worse" acording to the prev owner

i found it after pulling the VC.

Wait....you have an open cut out in your exhaust. And you wonder why it sounds like crap??? At least get a chunk of pipe and some band clamps and cut out your bad cat, and then see how it does.

Um, if the cat is plugged, then wouldn't you want to remove the cat, not the rest of the exhaust behind it? Have you verified the plug wires are in the correct firing order? Just because you may have put them on the way they came off doesn't mean it was right to start with. And yes, these cars will run with plug wires out of order, just will miss. Should be a diagram around here somewhere.

Might help if you posted the codes.

I see you said you have an evap code, I don't see anything to address that. Also.. 3800's should come in around 180psi for compression when done even semi properly.

It sounds fine with the exhaust off. Just got worse, less power. Put a hole in it, realized there wasn't really anything left holding it on so I cut it off, didn't affect the sound and/or performance of vehicle. Do not have codes atm, car is in heated shop 100 miles away. Thus the difficulty of repairing it.

No way it sounds "fine" without an exhaust. That will also make it run like crap. As your rear o2 would be reading all kinds of crazy.
