• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

97 GTP has hardly any power.

re: Got 1000$ for mods. Please help choose

Wow i'm glad you went to school and learned you some math. Take you long to figure out they are 10 bux more? .... Jebus... :th_wtf:

Anyways...

There are alot of ways you could spend that 1k in mods. Take your time and buy stuff from the for sale sections when you can. Be it this site or others. It will save you alot of money and help you get the most bang for your buck.

re: Got 1000$ for mods. Please help choose

If you could do it, yes. $1000 is kinda a stretch though.

I have personally taken 2 cars from stock to intercooled turbo for less than $1000 twice now... helped a local do it this summer as well.

Intercooling is sorta a ***** if you want to do it cheap, and making a downpipe is sorta fail if you dont buy one... but hell if you have $1000 now, $1200 would give you enough to buy the downpipe and a few intercooler parts.

re: Got 1000$ for mods. Please help choose

Well if i can do enough supporting mods at around 900$ it will save me money . Heres wat im ordering soo far, autolite plugs 104, pcm from overkill, sd header on ebay, 3.4 pulley( do i order a 3.4 press on pulley??), pulley puller tool. Magnaflow mufflers that are going on my stock exhaust piping and mostlikly a down pipe 3" with no cat . I was wondering if a 3" down pipe bolts on to stock exhaust piping. And if anything else let me knoww.

Re: Got 1000$ for mods. Please help choose

If you'd read my safely modding thread like I said you'd also know that you won't need to buy a downpipe because headers come with one.

Also...if you plan on modding past a 3.4"...which everyone does because it gets boring after a few days...

Get the ZZP MPS System...press-on pulleys are lamesauce.

Re: Got 1000$ for mods. Please help choose

Well im not gonna be adding intercoolers and stuff soo 3.4 " is the smallest i can go... Soo in conclusion a press on should be fine

Re: Got 1000$ for mods. Please help choose

Plural IC's?

You don't need an intercooler to go below a 3.4".

I'm running a 3.0" on a heads/cam setup.

Re: Got 1000$ for mods. Please help choose

Okay then shouldnt i be able to run 3.2 then ? Like there will be kr but shouldnt be much right

Re: Got 1000$ for mods. Please help choose

Why would you be able to run a 3.2"?

And no.

LIKE I SAID...

unless your planning on a cam, or intercooler...or even an E85 conversion...you'll be lucky to be knock free on a 3.4".

Cmon guy...research.

Re: Got 1000$ for mods. Please help choose

And as for the pulley i know what u mean. It would be a good idea . Can u send me a link that has the pulley system and the smallest size pulley i can put and the new supercharger belt and anything else i need for the supercharger pulleys , i dont wanna order the wrong one since i live in canada thanks :) and plus im not 100% certain on what i need for that anyways. The help is really apreciated guys thanks :)

Re: Got 1000$ for mods. Please help choose

Buy flow mods.

Install them.

Measure boost levels.

Go 0.1" smaller for every pound of boost you are below 10.

Make sure you scan, and have it wideband tuned.

Or invest in a wideband.

Re: Got 1000$ for mods. Please help choose

Arent turbos too hard to install and need alot of customization and dont wanna go through all that soo 3.4 " pulley should get me 12 psi of boost which is alright

Re: Got 1000$ for mods. Please help choose

Mechanically inclined?

Nothing is difficult, but merely time consuming.

3.4 should be 10.

Re: Got 1000$ for mods. Please help choose

Yes.

Commonly referred to as a scan gauge.

Just curious, have you done any research on this stuff before starting this thread?
