97-03 intake on an 04+ GP

Okay, so I want a cold air intake on my 04 GTP but the only one I like is the one at W-body store that fits the 97-03… It’s the mandrel bent tube that goes into the fender well. I know why it won’t fit… But what I was wondering was what everyone thought about cutting the tubing shorter to fit the 04 intake system placement… Any thoughts??
 


you gotta cut a place in it also for the MAF. 03 and older dident have them seprate like us. i like the design of that one too but i wasent sure about hacking it all up

Yea, I wasn't sure about the cutting part... Everything looked the same as far as angle and such. I was thinking about cutting a section out for the MAF. I have a chop saw that will make clean cuts, so I'm not worried about that part of it... I guess I was just wondering if anyone knew if there is one out there that is identical to that one but with the MAF taken into consideration.
 
Well I'm probably going to buy some mandrel bent pieces and make a mock up for my buddy at the local exhaust shop to weld up. Then I'll have it powder coated...
