97-03 Digital DIC & Digital HVAC Swap Question

Hello. I am interested in swapping out the stock SE DIC with the GT digital DIC. What must be done to get the digital unit to function properly?

I am also interested in swapping out the analog HVAC control to the digital dual climate control. I have heard that a second diverter and blower has to be installed on the passenger side floor board. Is this correct?

The DIC is easy. 97 only swaps with 97, 98-02 are compatible, 03 only swaps with 03. You may even have the wiring connectors in your car, taped up and hidden.

The dual climate control will require you to gut out your interior all the way to the firewall. I've only heard of 2 people taking the time and effort to do this.

To the mods: Am I allowed to link to all my info over on CGP without breaking any rules?
 
Sounds good. I have a 2000 GP SE. I've been looking online for info, but everyone says that the 00 model did not have the harness. The car is out having a engine transplant at the moment, so I cannot take it apart to look. I am hoping to get information so I know what to look for.

i know i'm no mod, but i've not seen any objections to linking back over there, but there are an ever increasing number of people that are banned over there and cant see the info you may post....
 
So as long as I get one from a 1998-2002 model I should be good?

Should I have the harness I need inside the dash? Do I need to splice into any wires in the column for VSS?

Is the reason why they are incompatible that the TCS button is lacking on some models, (Pre-98), and that the TPS (Tire Pressure) info is on the 2003 models?

I saw on one of the posts what looked to be a blue 8 position LED showing "P". Is this for the PS option on GT/P models, or has someone added it to display the current shift position (P/R/D/3/2) ?

I am interested in adding in some mods to the DIC, and that would be great if someone had already figured that out.

You know, with my GP down awaiting a tranny transplant, it would probably be a good time for me to get one of those from you and send you my DIC so you can put it in your Bridgeport, LOL
