96' front & rear end conversion

hello everyone, this is my first post here. i bought a 96 se sedan for $400 recently. it runs fine (could be better, but fine for daily driver) and ive just seen pictures of the GTPs and they look so much better than my crappy sedan lol. i was wondering if anyone knows anything about converting some things on the sedan to make it resemble the gtp a little more. just so im not so embarrassed to drive it :th_thumb-up:

what i want to do:

first the rear end-

i have this

and i want this

the main thing i want to do is get these rear lights swapped out if its possible
from this

to this

so im guessing im looking at swaping the tail lights, the little reflector that runs between the two tail lights, and its kinda loking like i might have to swap the rear bumper but i would like to avoid that at all costs. i dont want the lighted spoiler on my deck lid although i might consider something very small later on.

and for the front end

i have this

and i want this

for the front end it looks like im gunna need to swap headlight assemblies, bumpers, and find some fog lights.

now i am sure there is a lot more to all of this than i am anticipating....if any of this is even possible. if anyone has any information that could yield even the tiniest bit of help such as where to get parts, estimates on prices for any and all parts, advice on swaps, anything at all please post it :th_thumbsup-wink:

Back bumper wil be a direct swap, front, I'm not sure if all the headlight brackets and things will bolt in place, you may have to do some welding.

will i actually have to replace the rear bumper or could i just remove the center reflector and find a plain filler type replacement piece like in this photo

do you know if the tail lights will be just a bolt on and plug in or am i gunna have to re-wire the lights?

Just keep the center piece until you find a trunk lid with a spoiler. Tail lights should be a direct fit also. If you don't like the way it looks, just paint it black.

i like your tastes. sorry im not selling my bumpers lol

i do know where you could get every thing tho. theres a pick and pull near me that would have fenders, hood(if you need it in case its not the same one), bumper, head lights, rear bumper, taillights, and the bottom spacer piece thing below the tails

the light bulbs and all for the tail lights may not match, when i get a chance ill take a pic of both of m old ones. they leak but ill sell them for like $10(obo very flexible)+ shipping. like i said they are cracked and do leak but ill still take pics so you can fugure out the whole ligh issue. as for the headlights, i believe it all connects to the bumper(?) ill double check on mine and get back to you

im confused...keep the center piece until i find a trunk lid w/ spoiler? i dont exactly plan on replacing the trunk lid, everything should fit ok with out replacing it, regarding the spoiler im not exactly sure i will be putting a spoiler on it at all. if your referring to paint my whole car black, i do intend to do that after i swap all the body parts im hoping to swap.

yeah ill have to check locally to see if i can find these parts nearby. i appreciate your willingness to sell some old parts but i have no money at the moment im just planning out this little project for right now and then will execute piece by piece as i get money here and there. i might pm you after a while for the lights tho just depends. if your could find out if the headlight assembly is all mounted to the bumper would be great, that would be a good start so i know a little about my coarse of action :)

You live in Illinois, he lives in California...

good eye ;) i wouldve missed that lol

There should be plenty of those cars around for cheap or in the junkers or such, finding a same-colored prix with the spoiler (which make the car look sportier and still tasteful) shouldn't be hard. And chances are it'd be on a car that also has a rear bumper with dual-exhaust outlets and no reflector, which would look better.

I ment paint the center piece black, if you don't like the way it looks after the new tails. haha sorry....

im expecting to have all kinds of different color body pieces due to this project, im just gunna go with it till i get everything all done then im gunna have it all painted.

yeah im gunna be checking my local yards, just wondering how much they're gunna charge me for what i need.

so i am trying to find instructions on how to remove my front bumper just so i have the knowledge and i cant seem to find it anywhere, my local parts store has the haynes repair book for my car but i dont wanna spend $25 to find out they dont give bumper pulling instructions, any ideas?

Exam all edges of the bumper, look for any screws bolts and connections of the sort, then remove them. DIY = win.

Best bet, go to a junkyard and have at it, who cares if you break anything. I've done it plenty of times just to see how things come apart.
