i had a blown head gasket, didnt get them professionally sent in and done (I know its highly recommended)
but after we have done everything... she seems to be running really nice and sounds good, timing is perfect etc.

but after driving it for even just a few minutes i'll come back (i havent drove it out of the neighborhood yet)
i'll come home and pop the hood and it will be smoking, i truly cant find the source where its coming from... is this normal? maybe just all that oil burning off

thanks in advance for any help!

i honestly cant tell what it smells like.... coolant/oil i'd guess
and nah not the timing belt.. its coming from near under the air filter, and exhaust manifold or whatever it is lol

not sure on exhaust leak dont think so... and no video sorry :/
would be even harder to tell the source on video tho i would think...?

no definitely not dsmuts... i havent left the neighborhood, and i leave her running in the driveway, im just slowly trying to break her in, i'd hate to break down on the main road

me and my brother have been getting it done... I need a real legit mechanic to check our work lol
a few of the vacuum lines he plugged, and it runs good but it still putters a little bit, like its either losing air or not getting enough? not really sure

and this little smoking, we are hoping is oil and coolant burning off... also a few very little drops of water coming out of exhaust still

Just run it! I've done many headgasket jobs (even 3.4 DOHCs) and almost always have a good deal of smoke billowing up from under the hood for awhile (up to 20min) after the job is done. Grab yourself a bright flashlight and verify oil isn't leaking out of anywhere and let it run/idle. I recently did a head job on a CRV with a badly blown headgasket and it took over 50 miles of driving for white smoke to clear up from coolant in the exhaust/cat...
