• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

94 Grand Prix SE

This is my 1994 Grand Prix SE. Originally got this about 2 years ago just to be able to get around. Was really the only thing I could find that wasn't falling apart and they wanted a fortune for. It's still 100% stock and does need some work. Its got the 3100 engine so nothing special, but its enough to to have a fun little car. Not really sure how far I want to take the modding though. Not just yet anyways. The body is in surprisingly good shape for its age. Just the normal scratches and chips you would expect from a 17 year old car. Amish Land, Indiana in the background too lol.

That's my little sister's 200 something Taurus behind mine....

Looks clean man, like you said especially for 14 years old. Just suggestions, if you are having engine problems and want to mod it, go through the hassle of putting in a 3.8L. If you want to keep the 3.1L, fix all your issues before you do any modding. Welcome to GPF!

That's what I'm trying to decide on. If I wanna keep the 3.1 or try to drop in a 3.8. Might just keep the 3.1 to toy around with for a bit until I can actually afford to go with a swap.

if you do drop in the 3.8 youll need a new trans. the 4t60 our cars have will not hold any power. a good first thing to do is to get a downpipe in place of the ubend, because that is the most restrictive area of the exhaust.

Yeah, I've done some research on the swap and that seems to be most people's biggest concern. That and the PCM and harness matching up. If I do the swap it wouldn't be for awhile anyways. Probably going to work on the suspension and brakes well before a swap.

And here's another thing about this car too...The cat doesn't exist. Whoever had it before me cut it out and just welded a pipe in its place....

SWEET! I say have fun with the engine in it. I was seriously considering taking my 3.4L out and swapping it for a 3.8L, but with those expenses I figure why not just save up for a 97-03 GTP instead. So I decided I am just going to do light mods, such as the CAI, better exhaust, and make it really clean looking and run a bit better.

So is your car loud then that the exhaust is like that?

Not really actually. Yeah it's louder than the other ones of the same gen around town, but not by too awful much.

I took my cat off and im running no mufflers. i need to buy the stock ones. i have 2 mufflers for sale if your interested in them.

clean car for its age. id say it would make a killer sleeper if it had a l67.

check out w-body.com for help with these, since theres a lot more owners of the older prixes and wbodies there.

Thanks for site suggestion. I'll have to check it out. Probably lurk around on there for awhile too.

And 1996, thanks for the offer, but I'll have to pass on that one for now.

Since we are in similiar situations with the 4t60, I will share my plan.

I plan on saving up until this tranny bites the dust and then putting in a built trans and a vs cam as it is way easier to put the cam in while changing the trans.

That's just one more thing I'll keep in mind. I really don't know what exactly I really want to do with it yet. Right now I've got initial ideas while taking in what others have done and are planning to do.

Whatever you do decide to do, there is a good chance that it is going to be expensive. So to get get the most out of it, I would start saving now.
