• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

9 psi with an NA

9PSI isn't a lot. I was running 11 on my L26 with a topswap.

I only have 42.5# injectors, I don't know why you couldn't get away with the same.

You'll probably want to replace the timing chain and put a higher pound spring in the heads.

Last but not least, ditch the MSD coils for stock, they are notorious for having issues.

If you're going with 65# injectors or larger, you may as well run E85 thus giving you more headroom with boost at that compression ratio.
Now the transmission is a different story.

9 psi if tuned right, looking at high 12's. May want an intercooler, get a decent core and then piping from ebay to keep it around $300-400 total for an a/a.

M90 boost #'s are irrelevant to turbo boost #'s, many things that change.

Hey victor, i was looking at your cardomain site of the Prix and noticed you had a custom tune. Did you get a custom dyno tune or did you get a canned tune?

I started with the canned tune from ZZP that comes with the turbo kits. That got me to 115 traps and 15psi with no knock. Afterwords a friend of mine worked on the tune to straighten a few things out, like leaning the car out some for more power.

im not so sure i understand why this thread is based around a certain level of boost. if you run a turbo, you should have a boost controller. therefore you run whatever you can before it knocks, unless im just completely retarded and you base a motor build around running a certain boost level (which would be stupid as hell).

Bio, i will have a boost controller but right now the wastegate i have has a minimum psi of 9 psi because the spring in the wastegate is a 9 pound spring. I just wanted to know if a stock l26 could even handle 9 psi.

Thanks victor for the reply. Thats all i needed to know about the tuning part.

You would have some major trouble handling "30psi" on a NA car with anything...

Most any of my SC blocks can realistically make power at is about 22psi with a decent cam. Anything more than 20psi on a NA block without a decent cam is overkill.... anything over 25psi with a decent set of heads/cam is 900hp.

Fuel (octane), tune and the temperature of the air coming through the throttle body play the largest part.
