'88 grand prix question

i might buy an '88 grand prix, but theres a problem with it...the speedometer does'nt work..Possibly a loose wire or a VSS? Any idea on how much this will be to fix?
trying to decide if its worth it
 


thanks, thats what i thought too. we had a 1990 cutlass with a digital dash like this grand prix, and the whole dash used to short out and you had to hit it to get it workin, i figured it was similar to that, but then i came on here and heard things about a vehicle speed sensor and i dont know anything about...i just wannna know if its worth it to get this car without putting tons of extra cash in it..thanks.
 


seriously your gonna have to tear into it and start testing stuff a wiggle test on wires going to the dash may help could be the vss but that should be an easy fix kinda hard to diag stuff with out actually seeing it happen
