Okay so I'm just kinda realizing that this uni body car is either going twist in half or I'm going to have to spend serious money to put sub frame under it and sub links and reinforce it like crazy and that may not fully do it. So unfortunately I think I'm going just do the 383 save the turbo for a different motor and vehicle. And put it in the 76 trans am and its 383
just get subframe connectors.
honestly, i think youll be fine. you see these kind of things all the time. it probably wont make over 400 whp.
You can get weld in SFC's from UMI Performance for $230. My 98 is set up with their stuff, great products & customer service.
I've been down this road with my 98, any questions just ask. If I don't know it I know ppl that do.
One other suggestion if the motor is not too late. Since you doing a turbo build I would seriously look at LQ4 blocks from 99-04 years. It's an iron block that can be acquired cheaply (used in trucks). Bore it to 4.030" and you have a 408ci with a 4" stroker crank. If left alone, it will handle most boosted applications.
So if I went with 383 LSX cam/ heads/ headers think I can get 450-500hp?
