Just dropping info. that P215/70R16 (standard steels -P226/60R16, 225/55R17) tires DO work on an '05 GT(P). - I came across a deal on 215/70R16 snow tires (that are probably typically on SUVs) and took a calculated risk. After fitting them, they do work. I kind of like the somewhat smaller tread width and extra ~1/2" clearance height off the ground. --FYI.
