5 gauge pillar idea

Remove AC control panel and all AC stuff (More weight than needed for racing). Install a 2-3 gauge cluster in the AC Control spot.

Then a 3 pillar gauge cluster and be done. Will look more like RACEKAR with gauges all over instead of 10 stacked on top of each other on the side of the pillar.
 


id split them up, 3 in the A pillar, 2 on the dash in a pod mount.

when my time comes, all im doing is a dash pod with 2 gauges in it.

Why go through all that instead of just selling the gauges you have, and putting the money towards some dual display gauges?

That way, even with the preexisting 3-gauge pillar pods, you technically get a total of 6 gauges (one more than this contraption you're going to TRY to build without looking like total crap will give you with your current gauges). You can even customize the colors, and what the 2 things the gauges monitor are.
 
What about a custom overhead with 2 of the 5 gauges in it? All those gauges spell "break into me please" - I am always worried with my 3 pod.
You will need to make the pod with wood first, wrap with fabric, then fiberglass etc.. I would use a stock a pillar for fitment & mod it up as described.
 
Or a couple gauges in front of the shifter in that cubby, that way you can see it, but other people can't and won't stare at you when they see you in your car.
 


It's fine that you aren't a fan of an Aeroforce. You lkely want everything displayed in analog to remove the electrical potential for error. Although since the aeroforce is reading the pcm in real time, if your pcm thinks it's happening..then it'll control the car differently and your analogs may mislead you. And at the same point.. the analog won't read an issue if it's not actually happening.

I believe you can do anything you really want to. Question is.. can you get the right angle etc to see it in the car? I know it can be made and that part is easy, it requires trying.

As for wanting that many things to monitor, to me it's silly. I've come to the realization that I don't want that many things to look at. Here's my take on gauges, if you start out with good readings, there is nothing a gauge is going to do to help you in a race or even on the street.
Oil pressure, by the time I see it drop..my motor is done anyhow.
Voltage, if the voltage is an issue the battery light is capable of telling me
Air fuel, seeing the output w/o changing the input at the same time is silly. you need a wideband to truly tell you if you are lean etc.
RPM - damn ...it's already in front of you
Coolant temp - also in front of you wtih an accurate enough gauge that you'll see an issue coming
Trans gear - uh..you should know based on sound/speed and rpm
Trans temp - if you monitor this once..you'd know if you need a cooler
Vacuum/boost - .maintenance is key

Again..that's my opinion. I once had an aeroforce, timing commander and boost gauge. The timing commander was swapped for a second aeroforce and then I took them all out. Currently I have an aeroforce in the car hidden. If I need/want to look I can. But it's not visible all the time
 
Get over the gauge idea sell them and get the key ones like a/f from a wideband and the rest can be left for a multifunction display. In all honesty when your focused on driving the gaggle **** of gauges you want will become confusing as to what is what and distract you from actually driving the car to its easy to find limits.keep it simple and you can't go wrong.
 


You set the slope and intercept. Almost all gauges have been done and documented somewhere on the aeroforce site or the internet. Makes setup easy.

I obviously had no clue about that feature of aero force. Thanks for saving me some money on a wideband only gauge
