4th Brake Light (Under Decklid)

Nooo no no. I'm not hating. I'm just saying it's not my thing. Kudos to you though on wiring. I suck balls at that ****...
lol i love wiring!

im begining to consider something no ones thought yet.....

on the rear edge of the spoiler for those of us who have them

like the whole thing not just the center
bad idea? input please lol

I like the idea of putting it on the spoiler, but ud need a strong way of mounting the lights, bc they'd be much more exposed that the way its been done so far.
My only thing is it might be a little close to the high mount brake light (the third brake light), i dunno how itd look, i cant picture it in my head so it might look better than i think, but the closeness is something to consider when putting it on

ya i was justhinking about hte best way to do it would be to mold it in. lots of work but it would probly look pretty cool. esp if the blinker was added into it..

Meh, its not too bad but thanks! Any ideas on what might be your thing? Im always interested in new ideas. I'm thinking about mounting my two amplifiers on the trunk lid, wanted to save space in the trunk and do something a bit different, what are your thoughts?

:) That would be ****ing brilliant. The only thing to keep into consideration is wiring that can adjust to the constant opening and closing of the lid...

It would be perfect to find coiled wires for amps, like a radar detector power cable. Haha.

Just did this and it generally went fine. Except the led strip that came from China cracked into three pieces when I took out of the package. A nice little WTF moment. Ended up with the ones from autozone (alpena or something) and they worked out well, much higher quality. I think they're worth the $20 difference.

I have an 05 GT and i don't think there is enough of a gap between the trunk lid and the bumper to work. The trunk would cover 1/2 the strip.(unless it is an ultra thin strip)

The idea of putting them across the edge of the spoiled is horrible in my mind. It would look like s**t during daylight hours.

I do think putting them up under the spoiler(almost where the trunk and spoiler meet) would be good looking. A red strip on the left and right (deep) insets and white on the center(below third brake light). At least that is my idea so far. Would give me brake, turn and reverse.

Not exactly sure how to get the wiring up through the trunk lid to the spoiler area yet to keep it clean and still water tight. I will proably take off the spoiler tomorrow to see what i am dealing with.

I will post some pics once i finish. I would appreciate some ideas on running the wires also if anyone has any.

Why not run an LED strip on either side of the 3rd brake light or right across in the back window. It won't look like a 4th light, just an extension of the existing 3rd light. Example:

thats not a bad idea, i like it, i might just do that in addition to the 4th brake light now lol or at least try it out to see what it looks like then take it down if it looks like crap

if you do, let me know and post pics (saves me from the time and effort to try out my own idea :th_winking:)

i am surprised there is still this much activity on this post haha... i like the idea in the window as I have since replaced my rear bumper and took mine off

in order to get the whole window one to work you'll need to make a blockoff plate so the light doesn't shine in the cab. i have a 54" line of fir from my truck.
i could throw it in the back winder and snap a pic.

if i can find a 9v
