• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Ok so this is the 4th attempt at this. 1st, 2nd and 3rd attempts werent was expecting. Noise in the valvetrain that just wasnt going away. Long story short, this time im taking the XPZ cam back out and stock cam, stock timing chain and a set of 7.05 length pushrods that i have since i dont have the stockers back in the motor for the summer till i start Western Dakota Tech in the fall. That way when we work on a motor, i can just bring this in and fool with the XPZ and get it all right.

Few questions though. When i took the LIM off last night, there was a thin layer of oil in it. The PCV Channels on the intercooler, LIM were fine and didnt look like it was coming from there. Is it normal, id assume not as i never have seen mine like that before.
Second question, I gapped my plugs to 55 on the 3rd attempt. Was tearing it apart last night and four plugs were at 45 and the other two at 50. Whats causing the plugs to change? they are AL103's.

I have a Powrtuner on the way along with and AEM wideband o2. Gonna have it tuned after the motor gets completed and back in. Where is the best location to have the o2 bung welded at on the DP?

haha yes i was stoned when i gapped them but i made sure they were 55. it was a thin oil film. just never had that before.

it doesnt mean my pcv valve is shot does it? i know the pcv runs through the intake but where the runners into the intake area with a sheet of oil? it was even on the outlet of the supercharger but nothing on the IC. For sure not coolan though

also where does the wideband o2 bung need to be welded in?

And also i have a 3.0 pulley the supercharger and i cant hear the damn thing whine even when revved up at idle. what the hell?

Their is def something wrong. No amount of oil is normal. I have done atleast a dozen lim gasket jobs on these engines and have never seen any oil sitting in the bottom of the lim. Maybe normal for a high milage engine with lots of blow by.

i shouldnt have any blow by as there is only 100 miles after full rebuild

I agree. This engine should also run mint after a full rebuild, does it? I don't think the oil laying in the bottom of the lim is normal. This is just my .02. If it were my engine I would be concerned, thats all.

well i couldnt say it runs mint as its been nothing but troubleshooting with the cam i had in. there was no oil inside the intake the first 3 attempts but this 4th pull and tear down revealed oil. im am very concerned about it but dont know where its coming from.
