I GO TO A NICE AUTO SCHOOL LOCALLY CALLED MCC. anyways me and 2 buddies got the 4t65e hd trans outta my 1999 grand prix gtp today it was a fun filled day :) cradle cv axles mounts wiring support the engine and BANG shes out lol :th_biggrin2: triple edge performance you have a loyal customer im placing my parts call tomarrow if your reading this dave haha.


trans will be back in im hoping next thursday. "i only have class wens n thurs a week. 9am to 4 pm. anywaysss wish me luck guys and any tips i will appreciate thank you. -gtpjoe90-


im excited for the finished product!!! hardened goodies transgo shift kit and a dif torque converter im thinking.... we will see..... :) cant wait to pop the pan and see some teeth from my 4th clutch hub and shaft. i got a new hardened 1 calm down..... haha now my reverse wont click loud and ill have 4th gear again haha

Sweet! Let me know how it goes. I'm nervous about dropping the cradle for fear of alignment issues.

disconnect the rack from the cradle and let it hang there. thats all i did and when i put it back together i didnt have to do an alignment.

yeah i hear ya guys thanks :) damn right jacob she lasted 7-8 months without 4th.. lol i could have went another i think.... well maybe another week.,.... haha

im gonna be driving mine around with no 4th. is it pretty bad for the motor or anything? and should i stay off the freeway without 4th?

I didnt have to align my car after i did mine either
Ive been eyeballing My old trans sitting in my garage for a while now guess ill have to tear it apart at some point

i didn't, i went from late august to late december without 4th, gas mileage just sucks.

driving on freeway and beating my car like it owed me money.

haha we found small chunks and metal filings :) hahaha tomarrow ill finish tear down only had 2 hours of lab today toamrrow is 8 hours of lab muuuuuhahahhaha rebuild starts wensday toamrrow is complete tear down and cleaning like hell ha

NEWS UPDATE!!!!!!

we found NO and i mean NO teeth on my 4th clutch hub hahahaha

no friction material on the reverse band

and no teeth left on the sungear got inside of her just in time hahaha


daves goodies from triple edge performance are on the way muuuhahahhaa

How was tear down and did you need any specialty tools besides snapring pliers
I think im going to rip mine apart and rebuild it
Keep seeing a ton of gp's for sale with blown trans or trans issues

hoiw much work is it to just change the 4th shaft? and can it be done with the trans still in the car?

from what i hear joe you can if you want to bash your head into a wall its a ***** and a half but it has been done. and for pics tomarrow ill snap more but here is some :)
